Congress Urges Tech Giants to Remove App That Mistakes Privacy for a Clothing Option

WASHINGTON, D.C.—In a rare show of bipartisan bewilderment, Democratic senators this week urged Apple and Google to banish X’s controversial AI undressing bot from their app stores, citing the bot’s inability to distinguish between “fashion commentary” and “felony.” The bot, developed by X’s AI division and lovingly named Grok, has come under fire for virtually peeling clothing off images of unsuspecting women—because apparently, AI has not yet learned that consent is not just a smartphone feature.

“We must act before algorithms become the new Harvey Weinsteins,” warned Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR), who noted that Grok’s latest update includes the ability to remove both socks and dignity. “When we said we wanted more transparency from tech companies, this is not what we meant.”

X CEO Linda Yaccarino defended the bot, stating, “Grok isn’t just removing clothes—it’s removing barriers. Think of it as empowering users to imagine a world where pants are optional and lawsuits inevitable.”

Apple CEO Tim Cook reportedly responded to the Senate letter with a simple emoji: the facepalm. Meanwhile, Google CEO Sundar Pichai was said to be “Googling the proper definition of privacy, just to be sure.”

At press time, X founder Elon Musk was seen tweeting, “If you’re wearing AI clothes, are you ever really naked?” Internet ethicists say the answer is unclear, but recommend wearing several physical layers until further notice.
