Trump and Rubio Joint Winners of the Nobel Prize for Stupidity

In an unprecedented move, the Nobel Committee has declared Donald Trump and Marco Rubio joint winners of the Nobel Prize for Stupidity, honoring their groundbreaking achievement in geopolitical cluelessness. The prize was awarded following the pair’s baffling insistence that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should graciously thank them for what they described as “generously giving Ukraine back to Russia.”

“We were just trying to be neighbors, best neighbors,” Trump reportedly said while holding a map upside down and tracing the border with a Sharpie. “Zelensky should be thanking us for this tremendous, tremendous gift. Maybe a parade, or a nice tweet.”

Rubio added with equal conviction, “It’s like when you lend your car to a friend, and then they keep it. Zelensky just has to appreciate the gesture.” When asked to clarify if he understood that Ukraine is an independent country, Rubio consulted a Magic 8-ball, which advised him to “Ask again later.”

Political analysts say this joint award could redefine diplomatic incompetence for generations. “This is like giving a gold medal to the person who tries to put out a fire by pouring gasoline on it,” said Dr. Imelda Gullible, Professor of International Relations at Obviously Failing University. “But with less awareness.”

Meanwhile, Zelensky remains confused and slightly horrified, reportedly asking his advisors if Russia had hired new comedians or if the world had just collectively lost its mind.

The ceremony, held in a secret bunker beneath a Florida golf course, featured a bizarre acceptance speech where Trump claimed the prize was “yuge” and that he planned to build a golf resort on the ruins of NATO. Rubio tried to outshine him by promising Ukraine’s complicated “gift” would usher in a new era—though nobody understood what era exactly.

Experts warn this historic stupidity award might ironically be the smartest thing these two have done in years, though some question if “smart” is the right word.
