‘Barbershop’ TV Series Announces Additional 47 Recurring Cast Members, Sparking Fears Of On-Screen Hairdresser Overcrowding

Amazon Prime Video’s highly anticipated ‘Barbershop’ TV series has set Hollywood abuzz after announcing four new recurring cast members—Bokeem Woodbine, Bresha Webb, Langston Kerman, and Tiana Okoye—bringing the total number of named characters to an unprecedented, and frankly alarming, 143.

Industry insiders are now expressing concerns that the show could collapse under the weight of its own ensemble. “I’m just worried there won’t be enough swivel chairs to go around,” says television analyst Melvin Dribble. “At this point, the script is basically 90% greetings, 10% actual haircutting.”

Responding to questions about the practical logistics, showrunner Glenda Trout assured Variety, “We’ve got a system. Three cast members will be speaking at all times, while the remaining 140 will alternate between pretending to read magazines and loudly calling dibs on the next available stylist.”

The production has reportedly booked out two entire city blocks in Atlanta just to accommodate the cast’s trailers. “If you thought ‘Game of Thrones’ was confusing, wait until you have to keep track of 19 barbers named Earl,” said fan forum moderator Quincy Fleece.

Despite these challenges, Amazon remains confident. “With this many stars, we’re set for a record-breaking 16 spinoffs—each following a different customer as they wait for a fade,” said Prime Video spokesperson Carla Shaves.
