Netflix Announces 12-Part Cinematic Universe Starring Transgender Coal Miners, Expands Into ‘Cinematic Anthracite Realism’

LOS GATOS, CA—In its most ambitious project since ‘Tiger King,’ Netflix has announced the December release of ‘Queen of Coal,’ the first installment in what executives are calling the ‘Transgender Coal Miner Cinematic Universe.’ The film, starring Lux Pascal as Marsha McAllister, a trailblazing transgender coal miner in rural West Virginia, has already ignited a coal seam of controversy across social media and Appalachian fan forums.

Netflix Chief Content Orchestrator, Crispin Inglenook, explained, “We’re proud to finally give a voice to America’s most overlooked demographic: transgender coal miners who moonlight as regional drag pageant queens. This is just the beginning. We already have plans for ‘King of Coke’—the story of a gender-fluid soda bottler.’”

The film’s trailer reveals dramatic scenes of Marsha wielding a pneumatic pickaxe while delivering fiery monologues about both fossil fuels and personal identity. “This is the raw, gritty energy we’ve been lacking,” tweeted one anonymous Netflix board member from their Tesla.

Appalachian historian Burl F. Whistleblower expressed concerns: “I lived my whole life in a coal town and never once met a transgender coal miner. Netflix keeps setting unrealistic expectations for both gender exploration and energy jobs.”

Despite backlash, early reviews among critics are strong. Film blogger Cinnamon McGillicuddy writes, “‘Queen of Coal’ finally answers the question: what if Ken Burns made RuPaul’s Drag Race inside a mineshaft? It’s must-see TV for fans of geology and gender theory.”

Netflix plans to follow the release with a limited series about nonbinary frackers and a crossover musical starring sentient shale deposits.
