Amazon Unveils Trailer for $40M Melania Trump Documentary Featuring 18 Minutes of Silence, Sweeping Glances at Curtains

SEATTLE—Amazon Studios debuted the first trailer for its much-anticipated $40 million documentary, “Be Best: The Melania Chronicles,” promising viewers unprecedented access to the moments before the 2025 inauguration, in what critics are already calling “an unblinking ode to wallpaper and eyebrow raises.”

Directed by Brett Ratner, who is best known for his work on ‘Rush Hour’ and allegations of sexual misconduct, the film seeks to capture the First Lady in the 20 days leading up to what is being described in the trailer as “an event that may occur.” The teaser features Melania Trump in previously unexplored settings such as “The Second Red Room,” “The Window That Faces the Lawns,” and an exclusive look at “the chair she sits in when asked about policy.”

“This film dares to ask the question: What if we just filmed Melania waiting quietly for 18 minutes straight?” said Executive Producer Chad Rivenbaum. “America has never seen a woman think about drapes with such intensity.”

Promotional materials tout the documentary’s “never-before-seen environments,” including the Trump family’s third-favorite Mar-a-Lago powder room and a gripping scene in which Melania arranges a single tulip in a vase. According to White House aide Tinsley VanCroft, “The most dramatic moment is when Mrs. Trump almost says something, but then looks away and sips tea for 12 minutes. It’s absolutely riveting.”

Amazon insiders claim the documentary was filmed with a crew of 47 to ensure every subtle sigh and eye roll was captured from multiple angles. “I was moved to tears by the footage of Melania pondering salad dressing options,” said cultural critic Lance Brodner. “It’s the quiet dignity of a woman who may, or may not, have a shadow.”
