LOS GATOS, CA — In a bold new move destined to make audiences question whether Netflix headquarters is located two blocks from an underground sex bunker, the streaming giant announced Thursday it will produce ‘An Innocent Girl,’ a psychological thriller about an ambitious young woman seduced by a powerful D.C. couple, starring Kerry Washington.

The film, helmed by Jaume Collet-Serra, will reportedly offer what Netflix PR representatives are already calling “a refreshingly sinister look at sex, power, murder, and probably a lot of beige couches.” James Marsden and Chloe East are set to co-star in what industry experts are hailing as “the latest erotic political thriller to ask, ‘Can you ever trust anyone in a professional setting, especially if they have a wine fridge?’”

“We noticed audiences really respond when we combine Washington D.C. with unnatural lighting and at least two murders per act,” said Netflix Senior VP of Sensual Suspense, Rena Caldwell. “This time, we’re finally answering the age-old question: what if Scandal, House of Cards, and Eyes Wide Shut got caught in a blender at a Georgetown dinner party?”

According to insiders, the film will feature 17 scenes of characters looking meaningfully at each other across mahogany desks, plus a twist ending in which nobody remembers why they ever trusted a couple with an 8-foot-tall marble bust of Aaron Burr in their foyer. “I’m excited to bring a fresh perspective to the timeless genre of corrupt-sexual-murder-D.C. thrillers,” Washington told reporters. “Also, I really like marble.”

The film is scheduled for release in early 2025, or whenever Netflix runs out of serial killer documentaries.
