Trump Declares Evolution ‘Not Real’ in Response to Critics of Obama-Ape Video

In yet another bold act of non-apology, former President Donald Trump announced Thursday that he will not apologize for posting a video depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as apes, clarifying, “Evolution isn’t real, so technically it’s a compliment.”

The now-deleted video, which features crudely-spliced images set to the song ‘We Are Family’ by Sister Sledge, sparked outrage among both Democrats and members of the American Association for Primate Rights. Trump, however, appeared unfazed, telling reporters, “Frankly, I’ve met a lot of apes, some very good people. More polite than Sleepy Joe.”

White House historian and amateur anthropologist Chuck Habbard weighed in, stating, “Historical precedent indicates that past presidents usually apologized after explicitly racist acts, but Mr. Trump seems to believe in evolutionary regression. He’s really breaking new ground.”

Supporters gathered outside the Mar-a-Lago Omelette Bar with signs reading, ‘Apes for Trump!’ and ‘No Apology Tour 2024.’ One man, wearing a gorilla suit and a MAGA hat, told local news, “Personally, as an ape-American, I’m not offended. Trump’s been throwing us bananas since 2016.”

Political advisor Gerri Sanderson explained the campaign’s position. “We’re just trying to spark conversation—about breakfast, evolution, and who has the best hair in politics. If that offends people, maybe they should spend less time on the internet and more time swinging in trees.”

Trump has confirmed he will double down by hosting a Jungle Book-themed fundraiser next week, promising, “Bananas for everyone, except Joe Biden.”
