LOS ANGELES—In a historic ceremony attended by hundreds and at least three confused Los Angeles tourists, Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeoh was officially honored with Hollywood’s first-ever reinforced glass star on the Walk of Fame, commemorating her years of shattering ceilings, stereotypes, and various glass-based obstacles on camera.
“We wanted Michelle’s star to represent her true legacy—breaking through glass better than anyone in show business,” explained Walk of Fame Committee Chairperson Linda Smashton, as workers in orange vests carefully lowered a 300-pound sheet of tempered glass inscribed with Yeoh’s name. “We had to special order the glass from the same company that made Bruce Willis’ Die Hard windows. It felt thematically correct.”
The ceremony quickly became a trending topic after Yeoh, clutching a sledgehammer borrowed from Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, jokingly attempted to break her own star on live television. “I’ve never met a glass ceiling I couldn’t smash, so let’s see what this one is made of,” she quipped to the delighted crowd. The glass remained intact, forcing her to sheepishly admit, “Hollywood finally made something unbreakable.”
Several of Yeoh’s former co-stars commented on her latest achievement. “I always knew Michelle would leave a mark on this industry, preferably one shaped like a shoe print in a broken window,” said fellow action legend Jackie Chan. Meanwhile, Walk of Fame maintenance supervisor Gary Jenkins admitted, “Honestly, I just hope people stop bringing pickaxes to the unveiling.”
Yeoh’s star will be permanently installed between the Wax Statue That Barely Resembles Brad Pitt and the World-Famous Elmo Stand, ensuring countless tourists will trip over her legacy for generations to come.
