Trump Administration Redirects Secret Service Funds to Build $352 Million Ballroom, Promises ‘Round-the-Clock Conga Line Security’

WASHINGTON—In a move hailed by interior decorators and heavily armed party planners alike, the Trump administration has quietly shifted $352 million in Secret Service funds to construct what aides are now calling ‘the most luxurious, most secure, most gold-plated White House ballroom in American history.’

Originally earmarked for things like bulletproof vests, cyber defense, and basic training for Secret Service agents, the funds will instead deliver ‘a ballroom so opulent, even Mar-a-Lago will feel poor,’ according to White House Deputy Ball Committee Chair Tiffany LeGrande.

‘We looked at the books and realized there was all this money just sitting there, keeping people safe,’ LeGrande said. ‘But what about my cousin’s catering business? And the president’s deep, personal need for a rotating disco chandelier?’ She added, ‘It’s not just a ballroom. It’s a fortress with velvet ropes.’

Critics have noted that the One Big Beautiful Bill Act explicitly limits use of the money to Secret Service purposes. But White House spokesperson Mason Duvet assured reporters, ‘The presence of Secret Service agents in tuxedos, cha-cha’ing through the night, absolutely counts as operational security.’

Trump himself commented, ‘Nobody’s ever had a ballroom like this—nobody!—except maybe King Louis, and look, he had problems, but they weren’t Secret Service problems.’

While the administration promised private donors would cover all costs, a GoFundMe for the project has so far raised $17 and a coupon for Qdoba.
