Trump Explains Attacks On Judge’s Family: ‘It Was Bring-Your-Rhetoric-To-Work Day’

PALM BEACH, FL—In a development political observers are calling “unprecedented, yet somehow extremely on-brand,” former President Donald Trump defended his recent heated attacks on Judge Juan Merchan and his family by citing a highly traditional, if previously unknown, Mar-a-Lago custom: Bring-Your-Rhetoric-To-Work Day.

Speaking to an exclusive crowd of loyal supporters and several slightly confused Mar-a-Lago waitstaff, Trump explained, “It’s an American tradition—when you’re really feeling underappreciated, you simply insult the nearest judge and their entire extended family. Franklin did it, Lincoln did it, and frankly, they wish they were as good at it as me.”

Trump campaign spokesperson Marty Beehive elaborated, “When you’ve been arraigned on 34 felony counts, it’s important to maintain decorum by attacking the judiciary with the same care and nuance as a WWE heel promo. It’s all about balance.”

Legal analyst Trent Gavelstone noted, “Most defendants hire lawyers and say, ‘No comment.’ Trump prefers, ‘Your honor, I think your daughter smells funny.’ It’s a bold strategy.”

Mar-a-Lago event coordinator Tiffany Swizzle said the resort is now offering a new ‘Attack the Judge’ brunch, including unlimited mimosas and passive-aggressive tirades against the legal system. “It’s already more popular than the Taco Tuesdays where he explained nuclear codes,” she added.

Political historians are now frantically combing archives to see if FDR ever accused a federal judge’s cousin of running a ‘totally failing lemonade stand.’
