WASHINGTON, D.C.—In a bold move certain to make Betsy Ross spin fast enough to power a small city, Trump Mobile has unveiled the design for its long-awaited T1 Patriot Phone, now sporting an American flag with a dazzling—but mathematically confusing—16 stripes.

The smartphone, which has been hyped for months but remains as unattainable as a civil debate on Twitter, features what Trump Mobile CEO Steve ‘The Eagle’ Reynolds calls, ‘the most tremendous, bigly flag ever put on a phone—more stripes than any other.’ The company, which has yet to ship a single device, insists the extra stripes were an intentional tribute to freedom. ‘We wanted each stripe to represent one of our core American values: liberty, greatness, hamburgers, golf, and so forth,’ Reynolds explained at a press conference beneath a banner reading MAKE PHONES GREAT AGAIN.

Consumers reacted with confusion and intrigue. ‘I counted them three times,’ said self-described patriot and pending customer Linda Flippen, ‘but I’m just proud they didn’t forget the stars, too.’

Still, not everyone is impressed. Flag historian Roger D. Furlong called the design ‘a bold statement in historical revisionism,’ adding, ‘With every new stripe, I lose a little more faith in everything.’

Trump Mobile, meanwhile, remains undeterred. In a statement, the company clarified, ‘Our engineers are working around the clock to include even more stripes in our next update. Stay tuned for the T2, featuring stripes AND sparkles.’

As for the phone’s actual delivery, Reynolds assured customers to expect their devices ‘within the next four score and seven business days.’
