In a bold leap forward for handheld gaming, the Arduboy FX-C delivers on its promise to be the ultimate time killer—primarily by being so thin, gamers frequently lose it in their own pockets, wallets, and occasionally the folds of their own self-doubt.
With dimensions described by engineers as “slightly thicker than one existential crisis,” the Arduboy FX-C boasts an array of features tailored perfectly for those with short attention spans and even shorter fingernails. The device maintains its signature 1.3-inch monochrome OLED display and precisely six buttons, four of which are technically one button, just in different emotional states.
Kevin Bates, inventor and part-time professional minimalist, praises his creation: “We wanted a device that captured the spirit of classic handhelds, but could also be used as a bookmark or lost in the dryer.” He recommends buying in bulk, noting, “It’s not a bug—it’s a lifestyle.”
Early adopters are already feeling the impact. “I’ve spent hours searching my home for the FX-C, which is honestly the most immersive gameplay I’ve experienced in years,” said Michael Jenner, proud owner of what he believes is at least three Arduboys. Meanwhile, community manager Dana Sprocket points out, “You haven’t truly played the Arduboy until you’ve purchased a $40 USB 3.0 cable and still failed to join multiplayer Tetris.”
Despite the lack of classic game franchises, the FX-C offers over 300 indistinguishable-yet-legally-distinct titles. As veteran developer Carl Vectrex puts it, “Our games are so original, you’ll swear you’ve seen them before, but you can’t sue us for that.”
