Universal Unveils New Red Carpet Where Influencers Can Film Reactions Before Seeing the Movie

LOS ANGELES—In a groundbreaking move for cinematic discourse, Universal Studios announced Monday that select influencers would be allowed to attend advanced screenings of Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey”—and, in a historic first, film their reactions before even watching the movie.

“This is about honoring the modern critical process,” said Universal spokesperson Tiffany Brandt, as TikTok personality Logan EatzYourSnax recorded a 34-minute unboxing of his theater seat. “We recognize influencers as vital contributors to the cultural conversation, especially when reviewing things they have only vaguely heard about.”

Sources confirm that during the screening, influencers were given the option to mute the film and instead narrate their favorite Reddit threads. Several were spotted live-streaming their confusion about who “Odysseus” is and why he’s not wearing Marvel-branded armor. “I give the plot a solid 8, based on the nachos,” reported content creator Yasmin Vibez, whose 5.8 million subscribers later debated whether Homer was just the guy who eats donuts.

Traditional critics attempted to keep up, but The New York Times’ Manohla Dargis’s in-depth analysis of narrative structure was quickly overshadowed by a viral TikTok of someone crying after misplacing their ring light. “It was raw, emotional, and honestly the best content I’ve seen all year,” raved Universal marketing executive Chet Riggins. “That’s the future of film criticism.”

Rumors suggest Universal is now considering a world premiere where influencers can just react to the trailer for the movie, eliminating the need to actually make the film.
