World of Warcraft Concert Series Promises Immersive Experience, Including Waiting in Line for Four Hours to Hear ‘Lament of the Murloc’

Gamers and audiophiles alike are rejoicing at the upcoming ‘World of Warcraft: 20 Years of Music’ concert series, which producers promise will be so immersive, attendees will reportedly have to defeat a crowd of cosplaying orcs just to reach their seats.

Announced by the Swiss company Helvepic in partnership with Blizzard Entertainment, the global tour kicks off in Los Angeles on September 10th and, according to organizers, will authentically recreate the ‘true WoW experience’—including lengthy bathroom queues, random lag spikes in the orchestra, and mysterious loot drops under theater chairs. Conductor Sylvanas Windrunner—no relation—assured fans that, “Every concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. server time. Good luck figuring out what that means.”

Attendees will be serenaded by classics like ‘Barrens Chat Overture,’ ‘Durotar Thunder,’ and the crowd-favorite, ‘Lament of the Murloc,’ performed exclusively by bassoon. Hardcore fans can purchase the limited VIP Leeroy Jenkins package, featuring a backstage chicken dinner and a 10% chance to be randomly booted from the venue halfway through the concert.

“We wanted people to really feel what it’s like to play WoW: the camaraderie, the frustration, and the existential dread of farming for rare notes,” explained event manager Thrall B. Jenkins. Concertgoer Gary ‘Shadowfang’ Peterson said, “I hope they play my favorite 47-minute loot cave drone. It’s not music, but it sure is nostalgia.”

Blizzard promises no microtransactions during the performance, though ushers may offer random seat upgrades for twelve dollars and a bag of gold. The concert tour hits Paris, London, and at least one neutral inn before disappearing for two years, only to return slightly remixed.
