ZEE5 Warns Viewers to Prepare for Existential Crisis as Marathi Social Drama ‘Frame’ Streams, Offers Free Tissues and Philosophy Degree

MUMBAI—In an unprecedented move, streaming platform ZEE5 has issued a nationwide advisory to viewers ahead of the premiere of the much-anticipated Marathi social drama ‘Frame,’ warning that the film may trigger acute bouts of introspection, ethical confusion, and spontaneous enrollment in philosophy night classes.

Written and directed by Vikram Patwardhan, ‘Frame’ stars Nagraj Manjule and Amey Wagh as two moral arbiters trapped in a world where professional duty and human compassion are forever locked in a passive-aggressive staring contest. The film, which debuted at the International Film Festival of India in Goa, will now force unsuspecting living rooms across Maharashtra to question whether they should call their boss or hug their neighbor.

“After watching ‘Frame,’ I started apologizing to the mailman every morning and debating the ethics of returning borrowed Tupperware,” confessed Aarti Pawaskar, a beta viewer who has since moved in with her childhood conscience.

ZEE5 has prepared for the film’s impact by offering a complimentary box of tissues, a small bag of existential dread, and a certificate granting viewers an honorary degree in Moral Philosophy from the University of Pune. “We want to support our subscribers as they plunge headfirst into the abyss of ambiguous social dilemmas,” said ZEE5 spokesperson Ganesh Kulkarni, who hasn’t slept since the private screening.

Director Patwardhan remains optimistic. “If at least one viewer can’t sleep for three nights after watching ‘Frame,’ I’ll consider this a success,” he said, already working on his next project: a musical exploring whether to wave back at that acquaintance you sort of recognize from college.
